The course aims to educate and increase awareness of various environmental and social challenges that the world is facing today and their implications on businesses and value chains. It covers an overview of the  global  challenges  like  climate  change,  global  warming,  etc.,  and  introduces  the  concept  of Environmental, Social and Governance  (ESG) and its various components, followed by discussions on how businesses can generate value from focusing on ESG/wider sustainability aspects, wrapping with the ESG reporting landscape, covering both Indian and key global standards and frameworks. Technical topics like Net Zero, GHG emissions, etc. and how organizations can embed these into their business strategy to make their end-to-end value chains more sustainable are also covered in the course. The course  aims to  enhance  knowledge  of ESG/sustainability aspects for  corporate  professionals  across industry  sectors  and  business  functions  to  enable  them  to  contribute  in  their  organization's sustainabilityjourney& transformation and also make an impact on the outside world & communities in their personal capacity.

Students  will  be  able  to  develop  actionable strategies  for  integrating  ESG  principles  into various aspects of business operations, including s u p p I y   c h a i n   m a n a g e m e n t ,  c o r p o ra t e governance, and stakeholder engagement.
Propose  solutions  to  address  sustainability ch all en g es  a nd  c reate  positive  social  an d environmental impact. Students  will  be  able  to  propose  innovative solutions  to  address  sustainability  challenges fa ced   by  bu si nesses  a nd  co m m u n it i es, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of ESG principles and their application.

PROGRAM MENTOR AND EXPERT
Spandan is an ESG and sustainability consultant and a value chain management expert with 13+ years of international work experience, having worked with KPMG in London and Dublin and EY in India. He has worked with leading global multinational companies in diverse industry  sectors  including  FMCG,  Manufactu ring,  Insurance, Banking, Capital Goods, Pharmaceuticals and Energy.
Spandan  has completed  his  MBA  from  Imperial  College  London,
where he studied strategy, climate change, and sustainability.

 

 

Most recently, Spandan has worked as an interim in-house ESG lead for a £2 billion UK-based pension fund.  Through  GreenAlytics,  Spandan  advises  companies  on  end-to-end  ESG  aspects  including strategy, carbon footprint assessments, developing  ESG-focused  policies and governance structures, ESG  reporting,  training  &  capacity  building,  and  support  with  wider  sustainable  business transformations.  He  has  worked  with  large  listed  companies  in  India  and  various  UK-based organisations on ESG engagements.
Spandan engages with various leading Tier-2 Indian accounting firms like Kirtane Pandit, C M Shah (part of  Crowe  Global  network),  Bathiya  LLP  and  K  C  Mehta  as  a  su bject  matter  expert  in  the ESG/sustainabilitydomain.
Spandan  has authored  various thought-leadership articles  on ESG  and sustainability, and  regularly conducts sessions on ESG topics at various forums in India. He is also a guest lecturer at Imperial College London. Spandan has previously contributed content for an ESG course launched by a college in Delhi
University.
